Jamaica's Politics and Laws

Jamaican politics works as a representative Parliamentary Democratic Constitutional Monarchy. In the executive branch, they established a parliament system in 1962 which is based on the United Kingdom model and is headed by Queen Elizabeth II who appointed the governor-general with the advice of the prime minister who became her representative in Jamaica. In legislative branch, parliament is made up of 13 senators and the house of representatives. In judicial branch, it is also modelled on the British system where the court of appeal is the highest appellate court in Jamaica.
